As the specifications hardened into government requirements, the pool of survival blade shapes converged on the smaller saber-like shape or spear-point with accoutrements like saw teeth about the spine, guards separating blade and handle, electrically non-conductive grips, plus a hammer-like pommel. The very first thing you will observe when unsheathing the Fallkniven A1 is that it feels far more being a serious little bit of steel attached to a handle compared to a grip with a blade attached. While, as already described, being deeply rooted in centuries old tradition, the Mora Knives company has constantly aimed to both follow current trends also to carry on and improve and expand on their own knife designs. This knife is 0.8" smaller in the blade alone, however it does accommodate hammering, skinning, prying and chopping. I have owned and used lots of knives and I mean a great deal and still have always said that there is no perfect knife with no one knife for all things and I still maintain this, however, after owning and ultizing the Fallkniven F1 for quite a while I think I have found the knife that may often be with me at night, no matter what else I am carrying or using. The handle and blade combination ensure it is comfortable to slice, whilst still being keep up with the power to perform daily tasks as well, The full tang goes entirely from the handle, and provides a striking surface about the butt end with the knife.
